The Queen goes Naked!
The queen variety of Portuguese grapes, Touriga Nacional stands out for its floral identity.
Its fragile identity is lost for three reasons:
- the ageing
- contact with barrels.
In this wine, António Maçanita shows the pure Touriga Nacional, in a rare version, aged for only 3 months in vat, so that it clarifies naturally.
The grapes are from schist soils and fermentation occurred spontaneously.
"The wine is juicy, full of fruit, vibrant, raw and undisguised. a wine you feel like drinking without restrictions." These are the words of the tasters, Luís Ramos Lopes and Mariana Lopes of Grandes Escolhas (note 17), and we couldn't agree more.
